Monsoon evenings and the city slowing down
When the rain arrives, Bombay changes pace — smells, sounds, and the mood of the streets.
The first real monsoon rain does not just wet the roads. It resets the city’s rhythm. Traffic thins in some places and clumps in others. Tea stalls get more business. Windows stay open just long enough to hear the storm before someone shuts them.
What I notice every year
- The smell of wet earth mixing with fried snacks
- Local trains running late, but people oddly patient about it
- The way neon signs look sharper against grey sky
Why this belongs on the blog
This is not news. It is not a project update. It is the kind of small observation that makes a personal site worth keeping around. More Bombay notes will land here over time.
